- Lady, how many kilometers do you travel to work each day?

- 8 km in the morning and 8 in the evening.

- So, 16 km, and do you walk all of them?

- All on foot. 

This is how an interview with a Calabrian lady in the 1960s begins.

"My grandmother cycled 10 km to go and 10 km to return. Can you imagine when she forgot something?"

A girl from Trento tells us during a tasting. A girl from Lazio responds:

They brought the baby to breastfeed to my grandma directly to the fields, she did it during the lunch break.

From North to South, little thought is given to female labor in the countryside. And if you know us even a little, you know that we like to think, but we prefer to do.

That's why we decided to honor the tenacity of these women by dedicating a mural created by the Amazonas duo to them.

The mural takes inspiration from a photo preserved at the Wine Museum of Pachino by Emanuele Nobile. 

In the photo, women are seen carrying water, posing with amphorae on their heads. Among them is a little girl, also posing with her small amphora.

We wanted the artwork to be visible from the street so that the example of these women could inspire as many people as possible.

The inauguration was a real harvest festival, the ancient one: we celebrated the year's work, shared tables of good food, and had entire families dancing.

A journey into the past, because one must always look back to move forward.

And speaking of moving forward, we don't want to stop here. From the rice paddy worker to the almond harvester, from cotton to wheat, from North to South, from East to West, soon we will dedicate new works and new moments to celebrate the unique work of these women..
