Ours is a long story, but we do not want to bore you. Instead, we want to give you an idea of who is behind the vines. Not literally, we don't spend all day hiding behind the vines, eh.
We are now in the sixth (!) generation of our family to run this business. In this welter that is generational change, we live in a continuous tug-of-war between the desire to experiment and the experience of those who have done it before us.
On the one hand there is the (sometimes exaggerated) enthusiasm of the new, on the other the pragmatism of those who now know how things are done.
This dynamism, which is the past and future of every family, is the foundation of our company.
But who better to tell you about it than the two sisters themselves? We leave the word to them.
"The idea of being the one who could screw up centuries of tradition often crosses my mind. But I like to affront everything with fresh eyes and in a personal way: well, if I like it, will two other people at least like it? Maybe not, but at least I like it.
Despite the generations behind me, the apprenticeship is inevitable. I have been back in Sicily for four years, after working in an advertising agency, so I started from scratch. Here I am: the company intern.
I chose to come back and stay in the south because the passion for this work drives me every day, and I am extremely proud of it."

"For a moment in my life I thought of doing something else. I was a lawyer and pursued a university career in aviation law. I always had the desire to prove myself, until I realised that I could also find my place in the company.
This realisation came with the arrival of my sister, when our ventures merged into a wonderful project. I often ask myself what Barone Sergio is to me. I think about the 200 km round trip I make, the constant negotiations with couriers, the heavy work we often do that is not our responsibility, the thousands of worries about the future, and I ask myself… is it really worth it? Then I think of the smiles on people's faces when they taste our wine and hear our story, of the many achievements made with hard work, of my personal and professional growth made together with my sister. And I always tell myself that in the end, Barone Sergio is us!"

There's the Baron! Always distinguished (even when he gets very nervous), he has been running the company for years in the best possible way. He is very attentive to quality - after all, we put our name on every creation, how could we do otherwise?
He knows every sod of the 130 hectares by heart and always has a story to tell.
But apart from the compliments that we can write here and he will never read (he doesn't even know that there is this section of articles on the site, hehe), we can say that the Baron is ahead: in the generational tug-of-war, he has no problem saying: "You were right". And it takes a lot of intelligence to accept and support a view that is also distant from one's own.

Every day is a discovery. We lost him when we were little, but he is everywhere here.
The love he had for this land, for the whole area and for the people who live here comes to us from his stories, his past choices and above all from the videos he left us. Enjoy!
In the mural Baccus, Illustre Feccia reinvents Dioniso/Bacco, the god of intoxication and the vine, merging him with the plant element. Bacco is not only the god of celebration: here he transforms himself into the vine, embodying a mix of human and vegetable, a symbol of metamorphosis that recalls both classical art and myth. All in bright colours and shapes that seem to dance, as in a visual bacchanal.
Dioniso, in fact, is a bit like that unpredictable relative who wreaks havoc at family dinners: with his "organised chaos" he defies the rules, celebrates drunkenness and invites us to explore the unknown.
He is the god of "contamination" and welcome, the bearer of a special drink, wine, and of ideas "from outside" that demand space.

Illustre Feccia takes up these concepts with a chaotic and intense approach, perfect for representing the wild and liberating side of Bacco. Dioniso is not without wisdom: he is a breaking point that becomes liberation, openness to diversity and acceptance of opposing forces.
Who is Illustre Feccia? A multifaceted artist with roots in punk culture and street art, Feccia has worked in London, participated in anarchist zines and the MINESWEEPER collective. Between nihilist philosophy, subvertising and reflections on power, his style is rebellious, between stencils, posters and murals.
Feccia explores alienation, consumerism and rights, and mixes drawing and various techniques, combining inspirations and visions in a unique and irreverent way.

Lucignola is one of those grape varieties that, if it could speak, would have an unmistakable Sicilian accent. At one time, together with varieties such as Inzolia nera and Orisi, it was the queen of the island's vineyards. A few vines have survived and, from there, our adventure has begun again.
In 2018, we had the idea of bringing Lucignola back to life by planting a hectare on our land.
We wanted to rediscover a piece of our family history and our land. And so, among the vineyards of Pachino, Lucignola came home, becoming one of the (new) pillars of Barone Sergio.
But our history is not only in the vineyards. Take a look at the mural ‘Le signore dell'acqua’ in our cellar: three women advancing from the past to the present, symbolising work in the vineyards and a return to the roots of our family.
In fact, we recently found old documents from the 19th century that helped us reconstruct part of our family history. Just as the repropagation of Lucignola has allowed us to rediscover this ancient Sicilian wine.

Lucignola is a tough and versatile grape variety, perfect for producing quality grapes that reflect our unique terroir. It has a medium productivity and ripens early, maintaining an excellent taste balance.
Our "Reliquia" wine is made from whole cluster vinification, resting 6 months in French oak tonneaux and a further 12 months in the bottle. The result? A ruby red wine with aromas of ripe red fruit, spices and herbaceous notes. On the palate, it has a robust structure, a balance between alcohol and acidity, and an aromatic persistence that makes you want the next sip, and another, and then another. In short, you get the picture.
In the end, Lucignola made it. It has resisted, it has been reborn in 2021 and today it gives us a wine that tastes of Sicily, the real Sicily. So you fill your glass, we continue to fill it with pride.
