Relic is our time machine. It indeed originates from the rare and precious Lucignola grapes, a relic vine from Sicily that we have rediscovered and cultivated with dedication in our estate in Pachino. Aged in French oak and bottled, this ruby red wine is an explosion of ripe red fruit, spices, and delicate herbal notes.

I drew inspiration from this wonderful bas-relief that I happened to find at the Archaeological Museum of Copenhagen during a trip in May of last year. The work depicts a Female Winged Demon and was found in Sicily, dating back to the sixth century B.C., made of limestone. The kneeling position indicated a rapid movement of early Greek art. Such relief slabs, called metopes, were placed outside the temple above the columns. It was a marvel to come across such a small great masterpiece, very unusual in classical iconology. Female demons are not so frequent, and playing on the feminine term of "Lucignolo," the connection to Lucignola came almost magically.
